The Party Animales are off at a friend's Halloween Party tonight; I, Mommy, have decided to stay in because I get absolutely no time to myself. Jason gets no time with other adults and so he has decided to go along without me. Win. Win. Lachlan is wearing his lion costume and Jason is dressed as himself, which is what I would have gone as, myself, had I decided to attend. We really had plans to dress up, but geez. babies are time consuming!!
Lachlan has a new interest in the food I put in my mouth. This week, he grabbed an apple slice out of my hand and put it in his mouth, and tonight he grabbed some cantalope from me while we were out at dinner and put that in his mouth. It was cold and so I am sure felt good on his gums. So we are thinking we will give him a little food, and see how that goes. But we are agreed to prolong food as long as possible.
Well, tonight I have updated a few posts with photos so...I am usually writing with a few photos in mind, but then time runs out and the words have to stand on their own for a while. Which is odd, especially if I am referencing photos.
We are on swim lesson hiatus for a session. Limiting chlorine exposure I guess. But then he may have a bit of excess energy....He really has alot of energy for such a little boy. Someone told me he should be sleeping something like 12-16 hours a day, including naps. I think he sleeps maybe 9-10 hours a night and naps maybe 2 hours a day. But if we go to bed late, like I am sure he will tonight, it is already 11:15, he will still wake up at 8. And he will get fewer naps tomorrow, it being a Saturday. ? So, swim lessons help to wear him out a little and help him nap a few times a week.
I have tried to look up a few other activities he can do during the day, maybe tumbling or something, but seeing as how he just learned how to crawl, somersaults may be a stretch.
We have had a hard time this week with the sleep. For some reason we decided to halt on the swaddling, and so sometimes that works and sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes, he will eat, and then just fall asleep and sometimes he will eat and then talk and then squirm around with his eyes closed like he is sleeping only then he will open his eyes and laugh like ha ha I have so much energy. But it is nice because we are transitioning into this new era of Lachlan falling asleep without the whole wrangle wrap walk around thing.
So tomorrow is Halloween and during the day we are planning on opening up the last of three pumpkins and letting Lachlan pull out all of the stringy guts. He is actually pretty good about not putting stuff in his mouth if you tell him not to a few times. He seems to get it.
Nap time.
