Well November has flown by, and we did have a few mentionable "events" the past few weeks. First,
I forget which weekend now a few weeks ago, my maternal grandmother, Connie, visited Midland, after
her whirlwind tour of New York (state), Virginia and the Yucatan. She had been off at a few grandkid's wedding, (we could not make it, Congratulations All!) She was maybe a little disappointed, Lachlan does not recognize her, and so his smiles did not come so easily for some reason. But they did for Great Grandpa Papi, and so she could see her absence had put her on the "stranger" list in Lachlan's mind! He started eating some solids that same Saturday, and we bought an inexpensive food mill to make fresh mush. (Just bananas right now) Actually this was a few weeks ago, and we don't feed him mush everyday even. He is still a milk baby...
Also headed to Austin last weekend, was sad to leave, but it was fun taking Lachlan into the city, went to Whole Foods, picked up a few more cloth diaper covers...He is a great baby out and about just terrible in the car seat. Also went to a tailgate before the game with Gilbert (ate with Gilbert, Kim and child-in-the womb Friday! She looks so cute! Lachlan was a disaster at the restaurant, which is a little uncommon, we had to hold him nearly the whole time, and he kept pulling all the "decorations" off of the walls/seat behind us! I guess we are spoiled- a couple came by and said, oh, he was so good, and we took that as, jeez, he was noisy. We figured, if he were so "good" you wouldn't have heard him! Normal, he wasn't "bad" just noisy and made it challenging to eat, I had to take him to the bathroom twice to nurse, which I hate to do, but there wasn't room at the table to feed him or be discreet) So, the tailgate event...All men, including Gilbert's Dad and brother, Carlos, and Lachlan was all game-face. No smiles. And he had on a little hoodie, which apparently made him look like baby thug who never smiles. Well, I did explain, because we have noticed that he completely stares down any new male, no smiles for a while. But with women, instant giggles, smiles, winks...Sure enough, a young, pretty, friend of Gilbert shows up, with the boyfriend...No smiles for him, but instant, pure sweet smiles and laughs for her! Noone could believe the difference! Gilbert Sr. said the apple doesn't fall far from the tree...Lachlan is such a little shameless flirt with girls/women and has no love for the guys... Until the women have broken the ice, and then he had smiles and laughs for everyone. All of the guys got to hold him eventually...
Later today we are headed for Belgium, visiting Scarlett, Lillo, & Marlon. Hopefully a little snow, we have Lachlan's gear all packed, it should make for some fun times! Happy Thanksgiving Everyone! We will be eating airport Turkey, I guess, so eat up for the three of us!
