Amistad

Lake, not the movie. We headed to Del Rio for the weekend and headed to the lake for most of Saturday. Very enjoyable. We packed in food, drinks, and sunblock, and my Dad grilled there on the boat. We kept little Lachlan out of the sun for most of the day, and we must have done an excellent job because he didn't get red at all. Jason, on the other hand, looked like a lobster at the end of the day. Lachlan had to be smothered up in an infant life vest, which he hated, and if you see the photos, you will know why. And I did lower him down to his swimming father, which he also did not enjoy, I think mostly because of the lifevest. But there was really no other way to manage him into the water safely, so there it is. He enjoyed himself, I think, otherwise. He slept great, and happily his morning happy time has extended to encompass most of his days, not just the early mornings. So, he was up late, even after a full day at the lake and an evening at a restaurant, and he was all giggles until bed time. (Not all giggles, he still has his crying fits through the day, but they are so much easier to handle) Now his biggest grievance is the carseat. He hates it. I join him in the backseat, and basically talk over his crying, trying to assure him that we are nearly home/there/stopping. In the end, we are just too delighted that he is so happy, beautiful (smiles make everyone beautiful), and healthy (who wouldn't smile!?).
